Mahalo nui to all the students who contributed to the blog for the Spring 2009 term, creating a space for our community of scholars to share our experiences and insights as we investigated language in Hawai‘i and the Pacific.
Mahalo again to all our supporters who followed our writings and gave feedback in numerous forms.
As part of our course, our class collaborated on an interactive Google Map, here, that maps the availability of services on O‘ahu in languages other than English. In our work we found that information about language in our community is not always easy to find and we hope that the map we have created will be a first step in a ongoing project to identify linguistic diversity on our island and to highlight the importance of the issues surrounding language here on our island and in our daily lives.
